Japanese Charcoal - Japanese Style Hookah Coal

by HookahGenie 3 comments

Japanese Charcoal is a great heating devise to place over the tin foil of your hookah bowl. The benefits of these type of coals are that they are quick lighting, rather odorless and clean. They catch fire in about 1-2 minutes if placed over high level of heat. It's odor that it gives off is extremely minimal. In addition, the coals do not make a mess once over the fire. The unique attribute of Japanese Coals are that they are covered by a silver protector to keep the coal from ashing too much. These coals are typically sold by tablets and they last about 20 - 30 minutes depending on the brand.
Coal Rating:

Overall recommendation 8/10.
Quick light - 4/5
Odor - Very Light

yes they do have little odor but they also change the taste of the shisha... Also compared to round golds they take forever to lite. I would not recommend them to anybody... ever... for anything... you are crazy for suggesting them so highly, It makes me wonder if you actually know all that much about hookahs. I'm sorry I don't mean to be a dick or anything but that is really really bad advice... Like I said I'm sorry. I would recommend "Golden Coals." They light super fast, they are odorless, and best of all they do not add any new flavors to the shisha...

i dont know why you guys care about how fast these coals light. it shows that you dont know much about hookah b/c hookah is about taking it easy and relaxing, not being in a hurry to do it. the speed at which they light should not be a factor. personally i enjoy both these coals and the round ones
